RE: Long Western Road Trip

If you do decide to head South to the Grand Canyon (North Rim), take Hwy 89 down through Wyoming & Utah. Near Sigard Utah take Hwy 24 East to Hwy 12 and follow it South to Brice Cyn. Back onto Hwy 89 South to Zion NP, Continue South on 89 to the North Rim. You will see country that one would only expect to see in the movies.

RE: Keystone Fuzion 362 Tires Issue

Look at the Maxxis at Discount Tire. The Maxxis comes in a 15" E rated. If you have the solid aluminum wheels they will take the 80 psi E rated tire. Just change out the valve stem w/ steel valve stems.

RE: Landing Gear on a Raptor

My 06 Raptor did the same thing. I couldn't find a fuse on mine either. Turns out mine has a re-setting fuse, after the landing gear motor cooled down it started working again. It's easy to put a bind on the landing gear. If your trailer moves at all when you unhitch it, it puts a bind on the landing gear.

RE: Rust on my Rappy 3612

bkirkpatrick -- I checked your Profile to get a look at your rig. "PROBABLE CAUSE" -- That's cute. That can mean only one thing. Retired Salt Lake Co. S.O. here (30 years), glad to make your acquaintance.

RE: Rust on my Rappy 3612

Thanks for your input guys. Iv'e got some brasso & chrome polish I can try on it. Just frustrating when you see how cheaply done some of the finish work is on these expensive rigs!!

Rust on my Rappy 3612

My 3612 will be 3 years old this summer, and already there is significant rust on the wheel hubs and lug nuts. Very disappointing! Anyone else have this problem? How did you solve it?

RE: 3600 raptor

I would park the two Polaris ATVs end to end and measure them to answer the first question. I have not winter camped in my 3612 as Utah gets real serious about it's winters. I have been out in early spring when it still freezes, the insulation is good but it is a large trailer and burns a lot of propane to keep it warm. I too prefer to dry camp, just have to pick a spot big enough to get in and out of. Also, the bigger rigs are a little harder to level IMO, so I take care to find a level camp site.

RE: I-15 from Las Vegas to Ogden Utah In March?

March is still a heavy snow month in Utah. However, I-15 is a modern freeway. Even if you are caught in a snow storm, the freeway will be plowed quickly and you will be on your way again with little or no delay.

RE: Route 6 Moab to Spanish Fork Utah

I've pulled my Raptor over Soldier's Summit many times, no problem. Last summer returning to Salt Lake from Lake Powell I took I-70 just for a change of scenery, was suprised at some of the grades I had to pull going over the San Raffel swell. Take hwy 6, it's much shorter and not any harder to pull. IMHO

RE: Onan Genrator Help

My experience was similar to Tonys. Found little flakes of varnish in the fuel line (fuel line runs all the way from the fuel station/ tank at the back garage area). Blew out the line, back in business. An easy test is to disconnect the fuel line, then run a plastic tube from the gen set down to a gas can/ container. If the gen set runs ok, the problem is in the fuel line/ tank.

RE: Where do you fall? - Poll

A I've been in the "Not enough Truck" category, wasn't fun. I'd much rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

RE: Fuzion Genset shuts down...

Had a simular problem with the Onan in my Raptor. Gas had started to gell in the fuel line, after a few min. the line would become cloged and the gen. would quit. After a few more min. enough fuel would get past the clog to allow the gen. to start again, but would then quit again. Blew out the line, now we're good. Simple test; pull the fuel line off the fuel pump (fuel tank side), run a temp. plastic tube from fuel pump down into a gas can and run the gen. (fuel pump on mine is under the gen. attached to frame)

RE: Onan gen. quits after 10 minutes

I too had a simular problem with my Onan. Gas had started to gell in the fuel line, after a few min. the line would become cloged and the gen. would quit. After a few more min. enough fuel would get past the clog to allow the gen. to start and run again. Then it would quit again. Blew out the line, now we're good.

RE: Landing gear not working----help

Thanks for your help everyone. The landing gear started working again on it's own. Guess it has some kind of self resetting breaker that shuts down when it gets hot. In reading some of the other threads I learned that it is easy to put a bind on the landing gear. I now block the 5ver tires and back against the blocks before unhooking. Seems to work better. Still didn't find the !@#$%^& breaker.

Here's to you Evil No one before or since has used striped down Harleys or Triumphs to make those big jumps.

RE: What's your tow vehicle?

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. You need a 1 ton dually diesel. Wouldn't hurt to look at a 4500/450 as well.

RE: Law Enforcement RV Club

My apologies to kakampers and The Texan. I knew my insensitive clarification of an acronym (LEO) would hurt someone's feelings. I take it all back. Bill is right! I'm sure that Kathleen and Robert and I could find something in common to talk about around the campfire.
